    This is an excellent article.. Thank you for pointing me to BuzzSumo.

    My biggest issue with this is that it seems like most companies, even if they say they want all these things, they want someone with a degree in marketing or a similar field.

    How do we help companies realize that degrees for this sort of stuff don’t really matter?
    Maybe I’m still just a little too new at all this (2 years in to copywriting) to attempt what you’re describing.

      In all the years I’ve been doing this, I’ve never once been asked about my degree (nor do I have a degree in marketing!). Clients don’t necessarily care about your university education or what classes you’ve attended. They DO care about how you can make them/save them money!

      So, it’s all about selling your value. When you “click” with someone and showcase your value, they’ll be thrilled to hire you. 🙂
